Content Policy

Every effort is made to keep the website up and running smoothly. However, KD takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable or malfunctioning due to technical issues beyond our control, and/or possible loss of data.

In this policy, we use the term “content” to refer to everything written by the authors: materials posted, comments on those materials, and any description included in their profile pages.

KnowDo is a service for communication, self-expression and freedom of speech. We believe that KnowDo increases the availability of information, encourages healthy debate and makes possible new connections between people.

We respect our users' ownership of and responsibility for the content they choose to share. It is our belief that censoring this content is contrary to a service that bases itself on freedom of expression.

In order to uphold these values, we need to curb abuses that threaten our ability to provide this service and the freedom of expression it encourages. As a result, there are some boundaries on the type of content that can be hosted with KnowDo.

Content Boundaries

Please respect these guidelines. From time to time, we may change our content policy so please check it, since it is published in the web page.

Adult Content: We do not allow adult content on KnowDo, including images or videos that contain nudity or sexual activity.

No incest or bestiality content: We do not allow image, video or text content that depicts or encourages incest or bestiality.

Child safety: We have a zero tolerance policy towards content that exploits children. Some examples of this include:

Hate Speech: We want our experts to express their opinions, even very controversial ones. But, publishing hate speech is forbidden. By this, we mean content that promotes hate or violence towards groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status or sexual orientation/gender identity. For example, we do not accept content saying that members of Race X are criminals or advocating violence against followers of Religion Y.

Crude Content: It is not allowed to post content just to be shocking or graphic. For example, collections of close-up images of gunshot wounds or accident scenes without additional context or commentary would violate this policy.

Violence: Users are not allowed to threaten other people. Examples include, but are not limited to, death threats against another person or group of people and encouraging readers to take violent action against another person or group of people.

Copyright, trademark and privacy rights: Authors agree that they are responsible for any submissions they make on this web page. They agree that they will not submit anything to the web page that will or may violate any rights of a third party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, and/or privacy rights. It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged infringements. Regardless of whether we may be liable for such infringement, our response may include removing or disabling access to material claimed to be the subject of infringing activity and/or terminating accounts. If we remove or disable access in response to such a notice, we may notify the owner or administrator of the affected site or content so that he or she can make a counter notification. Also, links to sites where readers can obtain unauthorized downloads of other people's content are not allowed.

Personal and confidential information: It is not ok to publish another person's personal and confidential information; for example, posting someone else's credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, unlisted phone numbers and driver's license numbers. However, in most cases, information that is already available elsewhere on the Internet or in public records is not considered to be private or confidential under our policies.

Impersonating others: It is not allowed to mislead or confuse readers by pretending to be someone else or pretending to represent an organization when the author does not. Content that is likely to mislead readers about the true identity of the author is not allowed either.

Illegal activities: KnowDo cannot be used to engage in illegal activities or to promote dangerous and illegal activities. For example, content encouraging people to drink and drive is not allowed.

Spam: Spam is not allowed on KnowDo; for example, creating content to promote authors’ site or product for the primary purpose of generating revenue or other personal gains. Authors’ personal activities can only be mentioned to support authors's opinions; authors should not merely promote their personal activities through KnowDo. Selling any kind of product or service through KnowDo is strictly forbidden.

Malware and viruses: Content that transmits viruses, cause pop-ups, attempt to install software without the reader's consent or otherwise impact readers with malicious code is forbidden. Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, or other computer programs that may interfere with the proper operation of this web page are also strictly forbidden on KnowDo.
